Roughly 20 minutes from Chiang Rai, the 18-hole Santiburi
Country Club spills out over the fields and low hills of
Bang Bor. The course designer, Robert Trent Jones Jr,
has gone through a great deal of effort to create a
water-friendly course with plenty of bunkers, sloping lies
and good dog-leg holes. None is more difficult than the course's par-5 18th where
not only do players have to negotiate around a water hazard
on the left side of the green from the tee shot, but also on
the right of the green on the approach shot. There is
also hotel accommodation on-site. |
